Funke Akindele was surprised reading a story in the current edition of
City People magazine suggesting that she suffered a miscarriage and her
movie career has nose-dived.
“Funke is not pregnant yet. She has chosen to
be silent on the true state of her condition because in Yoruba culture,
it is more of a taboo for a married woman to publicly denounce or
confirm if she’s pregnant or not".
“This is a private affair and that’s why she was so amused and even
surprised about the story claiming that she lost her pregnancy.
When the initial story with a picture of a supposed baby bump hit the
internet and that Funke was in her first trimester, she silently claimed
it since that is her wish after a grand wedding in May.
The rumour continued to fester in September after another soft sell
magazine published pictures of her's at the Nigerian Entertainment
Awards held in the United States.
