To be totally real, we are still downloading this tape as we type because we felt compelled to discuss Gucci’s new South Park Kenny/Gucci eskimo/igloo chain combination featured on the cover. For some reason this chain is news to us, though it’s been featured on the internet in video form for over a month. It’s magnificence is noteworthy. The tape itself is a relatively brief collection of recent Gucci jams—”Makin Love to the Money,” “Gucci Time” etc—in case you prefer them all in one place with dudes yelling in between.

Meek Mill f. Gucci Mane, “Audemars” MP3

meek_mill_2
Meek Mill’s Dreamchasers 2 is dropping May 7th, but luckily there’s still more material to hold you over for four more days. Meek’s “Audemars,” originally leaked earlier in the year, and it’s a monster with an atmosphere-tearing synth beat. The version from the upcoming MMG Gang mixtape, adds a verse from Gucci Mane, who’s low-key approach is a nice contrast with the beat’s vibrant energy. This kind of mind-melting production seems like the kind of thing that would emerge as an official single; it’s hard to tell if MMG just has the endurance to treat huge tracks as mixtapes throwaways, or if this will eventaully still see a video treatment and soundtrack the summer.

Young Jeezy
Young Jeezy is moving ahead with new music: the MC has released "Get Right," a new track featuring production from Black Metaphor, on Thursday evening (Oct. 11).

"Call me Mel Gibson/Got a brave heart," Jeezy sneers in the opening verse of his new trap anthem. "Get Right," which takes aim at anyone who thinks the rapper fell off, is the banger that last year's "TM103" was missing: Jeezy is not tentative here, and bowls over the hook with gleeful ad-libs.

Young Jeezy is reportedly hoping to release a new album and mixtape before the end of the year, after releasing his long-delayed "Thug Motivation 103: Hustlerz Ambition" last December. Since that album release, Young Jeezy embarked on a Hustlerz Ambition tour, and was named the Senior Vice President of A&R at Atlantic Records.

After taking the stage with Wiz Khalifa at the BET Hip-Hop Awards on Sept. 29, Jeezy reportedly cames to blows with Miami rap titan Rick Ross. Click here to read more about the heated exchange.

Rihanna is back at it. This week she jumps 23-3 on Billboard's Social 50 chart, elevated by attention from her newly released single "Diamonds" off her upcoming album "Unapologetic" (set to be released November 19).

The Social 50 chart ranks the most popular artists on YouTube, Vevo, Facebook, Twitter and MySpace, using a formula that blends weekly additions of friends/fans/followers along with weekly artist page views and weekly song plays.

"Diamonds" has gained over 8 million views since its September 27 release, causing a 28% overall gain in new viewers to her VEVO channel with 29 million overall views acquired during the charting week. This week she added 1.3 million new Facebook fans and 105,000 Twitters followers.

As for the rest of the Top 10, Pitbull climbs (11-10) to bring up the rear while Cimorelli shuffles (10-9) and Skrillex tumbles (4-8). PSY remains at No. 1 as Katy Perry swings (5-2) as does Adele (8-7). Taylor Swift slides (3-4) and so does One Direction (2-5). Bieber remains steadfast at No. 6.

After a long grind in the studio, Bruno Mars is making moves again as well. Last week he released "Locked Out of Heaven," the first single from his second album "Unorthodox Jukebox," due out December 10.

Trybe records femcee Eva Alordiah added another year. Eva had a great night out celebrating her birthday with her Trybe 2.0 family - Eldee, Sarz, Sojay K9, and famous friends like Bovi, Yemi Alade, Beazy, Dipp, 2shotz and more, and It all went down at Club Deuces in Victoria Island, Lagos.

Sources say she will continue her medical treatment here in Nigeria as she has not fully regained her health.

A presidential jet was scheduled to fly out of Abuja last night to bring home Nigeria's ailing First Lady, Mrs. Patience Jonathan. Presidency sources told SaharaReporters yesterday that Mrs. Jonathan will return to the country this morning if everything works as planned. Mrs. Jonathan was secretly flown out of Abuja nearly six weeks ago, at the end of August, after she developed complications from a cosmetic procedure she had undertaken in Dubai.

Upon returning to Nigeria from Dubai, she was flown out to Germany in an air ambulance following an emergency which was initially diagnosed as "food poisoning." Several investigations by SaharaReporters however revealed that her medical condition was more complicated and precarious. Among others, in the early stages she lost her power of speech for four days.

In an effort to cover up her health condition, the presidency has, during Mrs. Jonathan’s hospitalization, engaged in a game of hide-and-seek with the media, at first claiming that the First Lady was only resting after a hectic schedule of hosting the African First Ladies Forum.

Although several reports have pinpointed the nature of Mrs. Jonathan’s condition since then, the President and his aides have chosen to hide it from the public despite spending several millions of dollars in public funds on her treatment.

Last week, the president's office made available to the public a grainy, three-second video clip that said showed that Mrs. Jonathan was "hale and hearty." Neither the date nor the location of the video was identified, but Mr. Jonathan 's spokesperson said the president had embarked on a secret trip to his wife accompanied by the Presidential villa's vicar and two of the president's kids.

D'Banj & Kanye West ‘Illuminati’ [ih-loo-muh-nah-tee]: A name that refers to a purported conspiratorial organization which is alleged to mastermind events and control world affairs through governments and corporations to establish a New World Order.
What does that scary definition have to do with a Nigerian pop star who says he is determined to make Nigerian music known far and wide? A lot, according to some people.

Dapo ‘D’banj’ Oyebanjo, on Friday October 5, 2012, during an interview on the ‘Morning Show’ at popular urban radio station BEAT 99.9 FM, was asked – ‘Are you a member of the Illuminati’? He calmly denied ever being a member of the ‘secret organization’ but we can’t help but wonder why he was even asked the question.
THE GENESIS
The talk about D’banj supposedly joining the Illuminati started in the wee hours of the morning of Tuesday, March 1, 2011 when G.O.O.D Music boss Kanye West tweeted at former Mo’Hits label partners Don Jazzy and D’banj, asking them to ‘get back to New York’ as they had to wrap up some work. Over the next few months, tongues began wagging and insinuations made – that D’banj and Don Jazzy had ‘sold their souls’ to the Illuminati for fame and fortune.
INHERITED PROBLEMS
So how exactly did D’banj and Don Jazzy ‘sell their souls and join the Illuminati’? ‘You know Kanye is a member of the Illuminati, him and Jay Z, so as D’banj joined them, he has washed his hands in trouble’, an upcoming Lagos based artiste says.
And how does he know Kanye West and Jay Z are members of the Illuminati? The response: ‘Why are you talking like this now? I watched DVDs and read about their evils ways on the internet, so automatically, D’banj too is a member.’
HOW THE CASE WORSENED
The internet can be an educational tool, but with no barriers to curtail false or poorly proved accusations, everyone’s opinions on their blogs, Twitter and Facebook pages are, to a large extent, taken as facts – So people began writing out their opinions and many readers swallowed it hook, line and sinker. An ‘Oliver’ dance competition video which went viral over the next few weeks worsened the matter – a blog ‘Wazobia Report’ published a lengthy article written by a ‘Jowo Mabinu’ (which means ‘please don’t get/be angry) titled ‘D’Banj and Mo’Hits records crew in Illuminati plot to turn the nation gay’ which was culled by several other blogs.
HOW DON JAZZY GOT OFF THE HOOK
With the Mo’Hits split, and D’banj essentially relocating, to be closer to the G.O.O.D Music camp, it was more fodder for the D’banj-Kanye-Illuminati theorists. ‘Don Jazzy pulled out, he fears God, as for D’banj, there’s no coming back for him’, another upcoming artiste friend tells us.
SO WHICH OTHER NIGERIAN ARTISTES ARE ‘ILLUMINATI MEMBERS’?
D’banj isn’t the only scape goat. The ‘secret organization’ theorists have also taken it upon themselves to mention some other Nigerian artistes who have allegedly joined the Illuminati. Psquare, who signed with Akon have also been hit by critics for ‘selling their souls.’
‘Psquare released that Rick Ross video the same time their mother died. Mr. Reporter; I’m surprised you can’t put two and two together.’
EMBRACE THE LIGHT
Denying the rumours might not help; in fact, not commenting only raises suspicion, which might improve record sales and buzz around the artiste – a move made by Jay Z, Kanye West, Lady Gaga, and Rihanna, who are constantly bashed with Illuminati claims.
You don’t see them running to radio stations to deny any accusations, do you?

Reggie & The Next Big Thing Emcees The task for next big thing emcees was Hiplife; the emcees who are so accustomed to hip hop had to go for lessons from no other person the Grandpapa of hip hop and hip life Reggie Rockstone.
Reggie Rockstone released his first debut album Maka Maka in 1998, a fusion of rap and highlife and later became known as Hiplife. Reggie said hip hop is of black origin so the emcees should own hip hop and not be intimidated by that fact most people see it as foreign.

He said one of the challenges he faced when he came out with his hip life album was acceptance and understanding. Ghanaians had gotten used to the highlife rhythm so adapting to the new form of music was very difficult but with time they warmed up to it and now is the fastest growing music in GH.
